After a weekend in Yorkshire the boys were quite tired this week so we all had a fairly low key week.
I took them to the splash park to see their friends. We had a lovely picnic in the sun and loads of home educating families came, there was a humongous group of families by the time we left.
This is us having our picnic.
Playing at the beach.
Having races from one side of the beach to the other with their friend Autumn.
Playing on the climbing frame.
Getting sandy and mucky in the stream with their friends.
Organising themselves, lots of discussing and running about took place though I don't know what games they were playing.
You can see the massive picnic taking place to the right of the tree behind Caden.
Another day we came back again and they met their friends (who aren't home educating) Rowan and Gaia. Miles made a friend and played with him for a bit. They got pirate packs from poundland and loved them so much. They wanted to make a pirate party and have been shooting each other with the guns, wearing the eye patches and rings and looking for lots of stuff with their telescopes. Lots of mileage out of that £2 spent!
We also did our weekly shop at the PYO farm this week. The boys picked raspberries and redcurrants. We also dug up carrots, potatoes, onions and beets. We collected broad beans (Miles feels he is especially good at the broad beans) and spinach. Then we made a stew with heart and kidney and the veggies from the farm. Very nutritious. Miles really loved the stew.
We have also started reading Tom's Midnight Garden. It is a little bit advanced for Miles but it is great that he still sits and listens to it. Caden is getting into it. I have plans to read to him Charlotte's Web, Harry Potter 1 and 2 and Matilda this Summer. We have them all lined up ready to read.
We also watched several thunderstorms which gave us cause to talk about lightning and thunder and electrons. It was also great fun to experience.
