So.. here we are in Portugal at Orbitur Guincho! It's a campsite right on the beach, North West of Lisbon. It's very windy. Even the trees are growing horizontally. There are sand dunes and there is a 'bum slide' as named by my creative boys! The waves are enormous and there are loads of kite surfers, regular surfers and so on... There is an excellent running track but that's more about me and less about the boys so let me show you what they have been doing in the last week...
We left France on our two day, 16 hours total in the car (with stops) drive. I had done part of this trip before and I told the kids about the guns and knives for sale in the service stations en route... in particular on the Spanish/Portuguese border.... Gruesome!
Pit stop....
We arrived a day earlier than everyone else as I need time alone to come down to earth after a stressful drive.. The kids did some drawing and settled in.
Then Leticia arrived... the kids excitedly showed her and her kids the way to our camp.
The camp is really amazing for having an 'animatrice'. There are activities every day, included in the price. They started off making paper lanterns and the kids get a certificate for every session they participate in.
Miles wanted to play a board game but we had only brought the Yes No game which didnt appeal to him. So he created his own snakes and ladders game, with counters and even made a spinning die out of paper and a stick. It was a hit!
Then Megan, Luki and Kirsten arrived. Major excitement and lots of running around and playing.
Caden was so good with the little ones. He is the oldest and everyone looks up to him, he responds with kindness and patience and almost always has time for the little kids who adore him!
Miles is playing trionimos with Arthur.. great game for building up their arithmatic skills.
Lego creating...
Drawing...
Caden made Luki a Batman mask... Luki loved it but he couldn't see much...
The two water babies (Megan and Miles) got straight in the pool... it was cold, apparently.
At the origami workshop!
