Magnets @ Science Club - October 2017

This month we began Science club. A way of getting the kids together and still having a bit of home education alongside school. We did magnet science this time. I bought a magnet science kit (I take help and inspiration from wherever it's available) and we created a magnetic car that we were able to move by not touching it. We put the strong magnet under the table and the car looked like it was moving itself.

We made a magnet appear to float. The round magnets threaded on the stick have the repelling ends facing one another so the top one appeared to float.

Then we all went down to our little kid's woods with terracotta clay and tools. The kids smooshed it onto the trees and made faces with the tools and natural materials. This is an idea I have borrowed from Camp Mohawk in England (which is amazing by the way).

Max takes his work very seriously!

This one won clay face of the day!

Then we got all the logs which are usually in a circle and put them into an airplane which Arthur proceeded to fly and all the kids joined in as passengers - it was really funny to watch!

Then they all played!

New Beginnings

The boys are growing. They are now 14 and 11. It's been 2 years since we escaped from Thailand and what a couple of years we have had. ...
