New Beginnings

The boys are growing. They are now 14 and 11. It's been 2 years since we escaped from Thailand and what a couple of years we have had. We have sold the farm finally. The kids were sad to leave but it was a good move as a huge dual carriageway was being built next to the house and the kids needed to start school. With the virus taking over the world and various lockdowns happening, there was no infrastructure or money to continue properly with home education and I had to make a different decision. That area had run its course for us and it was time to move forward with our dream.

I had dreamt of finding a small cottage somewhere, growing veggies and flowers and just becoming a Naturopathic Nutritionist (as per my ongoing degree which finishes hopefully this November) and just having a nice little quiet life - no drama, just healthy and simple and surround ourselves with the right people.

We had to go through the mill to get there but get there we did. Rather than describe too much of the events of the last year, where the children are concerned they began school and college in Jan 2021 and since then they are thriving in the education system. They have made friends, they are doing well and I have been trying to get the farm sold and find us our forever home. That has now happened. It is a renovation and it seems right with all the changes and positive strides that we are making, to document this for Caden and Miles so that later on they can see how much was going on around them.

I don't have that many photos of Caden and Miles or of what we have been doing lately. I have got out of the habit of taking photos but it's a shame as we will want to look back on all this one day. Here is a photo of the incredible sunset at the new place and here are Caden and Miles looking very sophisticated in their sunglasses a couple of months ago.

The situation here is that we are building a homestead and going off grid. So we have built a vegetable garden, I will post photos later. I just got my first own bee colony. I learned bee keeping last year so it's now time to put that all into practise. I am delighted about that. We will get 9 chickens really soon and maybe a couple of pigs next year. We are currenly renovating the main house which will become a really amazing 3 bedroom house for us. Then I plan to go off grid with solar panels. We are really insulating the house and working on getting fit. It's a good time of life as we are building and growing. The kids have a bedroom each and they are now you tubers, their Dad bought them some game editing programmes and a lot of equipment to help them do this and they both love to play and work on their games and channels regularly. I try to keep them in the real world too with chores and teaching them about gardening and cooking but it's a continuous battle.

Miles begins college this year. He is really excited about it. He just got back from Puy du fou, a school trip for 2 days with his friends. He had such a great time and he came back with gifts for everyone too. Such a sweetheart!

So this is a time of new beginnings for us. This is our forever home, I will be building a health clinic and retreat centre here, just on a small scale but I hope to make a small change in the world and model to Caden and Miles good health and survival life skills.

Morocco 2023

Morocco was Miles' 13th birthday present. We were excited as it was our first trip to Africa.  We found an amazing restaurant for Mile...
