Luisa and the IF Festival

This week we fostered a dog called Luisa. She is a Brittany Spaniel and such a gentle little thing. She was in between homes so we had her for that time. The kids were so excited when she was coming, they asked all morning when she was coming, then they ran out excitedly when the van came to drop her off. She fitted right in.

Caden playing outside with his cane, given to him by some other friends.

I took the boys to see their friends Seb and Alisha who have just come back from travelling with their parents for 7 months. They were excited to see them. The kids were all by the river so we took their fishing nets and they all had a good play about in the river.

Luisa and Caden back at home. He was so good with her.

We had two of their friends over to stay for two nights. Here they are eating ice-creams in the back garden. Caden has a home made smoothie one.

They played pirates on the bed.

I took them to see an adaptation of The Iron Giant (Ted Hughes, the boys already know the story which helped). They all loved the giant. It was so well made.

They went to the Insect Circus.

You looked through the windows and pressed the buttons and little (plastic) insects would drive bicycles or swing on the trapeze.

They climbed.

Had more ice creams (another day)....

...and played....

...and played....

...and climbed....

...and played....

and then they all climbed the hill on the way home...

I was cycling that day with two in the trailer and one in the seat. Caden also cycled. He needed a break on the way back so we stopped at our third playground of the day (sadly no photos of the first with pirate ship and sandpit, my phone had no power) and they had a great time chasing each other around here too.
