Not back to school picnic

This was the first week that the schools opened up and most kids returned to the classrooms. Nothing really changes for us except we do a few more group lessons. Each geographical area tends to have its own 'Not back to school picnic' and we went to the MK one. Lots of people showed up, I think close to 100 including all parents and children. The kids had a full morning of playing together with children of all ages. They played really nicely and had loads of fun! I particularly feel happy when I see the boys joining in and being a part of their peer group. They have come on in leaps and bounds socially and they feel completely at home with their home educating friends. It is lovely for me to see this.

We cycled about 10 miles around MK today. Caden did that distance on his tiny Spiderman bike, it really is time to get him a new bike! Xmas is too far to wait. I am on the case now....

We had a pit stop for a snack and they ran about blowing all the dandelion clocks away..  Miles was funny, he made it his personal mission to destroy every clock in the field. It was hilarious to watch, Caden and I laughed our heads off.

They had a quick, obligatory wrestle..

Then we cycled home.

The house is still a total dump with carpets up and walls needing plastering and decorating. It is getting me down a bit and affecting home life. There just seems to be so much to do. I took them to Wetherspoons for a breakfast so I didn't have to cook in the dust one day.. We are spending as much time out of doors while it gets sorted as possible. Thank goodness it isn't Winter!
