Berlin Aquarium 2016

A walk from the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag through a beautiful park and the zoo gardens gets you to the Berlin Aquarium. It's in a very beautiful, old building.  It's a very nice aquarium, the boys got a lot out of it. They saw small sharks, Miles made friends with a fish that he thought kept coming back to see him but in reality it was swimming from one side of the tank to the other probably in a bid to get the exercise it really needed, poor thing. The crocs and reptiles were ace, there was a very good upstairs dry land section.

Jellies....

I think Miles has the magic touch like Harry Potter, luckily the glass remained intact...

This was really interesting to us as we had found one of these babies right in our garden in France. The Fire Salamander. Then Da Daaa! In the Aquarium!

Axolotl? I think... This is a fascinating creature that changes from aqueous to aerobic respiration and then cannot change back (as far as I rememeber - brain cogs creaking here).

Miles is currently utterly terrified of spiders and anything quick and leggy (that counts me out) so I have no idea how he was able to remain in this position long enough with this thing to have a photograph taken with it...

Oh how we laughed...

We took dinner on a park bench, sadly it began to rain and we did something ridiculous like 25000 steps (double that for the kids at least with all the running about and their smaller legs). Caden couldnt walk any more so I was hero Mum and I carried him back the last 3 kilometres - God I was exhausted at the end of this day. Miles managed to stay on his feet the entire time though.

Morocco 2023

Morocco was Miles' 13th birthday present. We were excited as it was our first trip to Africa.  We found an amazing restaurant for Mile...
